She attended over 10 schools which helped make her more social and interactive than most students. According to online sources, she was among the students studying science. She completed her studies at Ouachita's Baptist University with a BSc majoring in Chemistry. Irvin has a well-established television show as a public speaker or author, as well as a motivator. Her popularity grew after she became the lead program host at QVC, where she was also an expert in Brand Strategy. She worked for QVC around seven years.
