Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very popular. As a child, Sara was racially taunted by many people in America. In the 9th grade, she began to feel more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. It not only boosted confidence in herself, but it also changed her career ambition. In 1992, she received her degree from New York's Julliard School. In the year 23 she made her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot She played the role of Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC the show, she received more appreciation. A well-known performer, she has also recorded songs and plays. In addition, she's an activist and works extensively in the field of LGBT rights.
