Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles included two episodes on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. However, her parents didn't want her to take on acting roles until she was older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry she was shy for acting in school, began to perform at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. When she graduated, Perry went into New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California where she found theater work. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. In 2015, she was a part of her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in the ABC drama The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry starred in a role on ABC's political thriller Scandal with her father. The actress also portrayed the younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, which is a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The role was offered to her through an open audition despite having a connection to the persona.
