Selena Gomez - an international actor and singer - has become a household name. One of the shows she has participated in and has enjoyed the most success is the Disney series called Wizards of Waverly Place. Selena Marie Gomez has a full name. Born on the 22nd day of July 1992, located in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. Selena's mom was only 16 when Selena first came to the scene. When she was just 9 years old Selena was able to make her first role on the stage by playing Gianna on Barney and her Friends. She was among many children to have played with Barney, the infamous Pink Dinosaur, an anthropomorphic dinosaur. Selena was involved in several episodes in season 7 and 8 between 2001 and 2003. As a fun fact: Selena isn't the only singer who worked in Barney and his Friends at this time; Demi Lovato was also a part of the ensemble cast for the show. Selena Gomez had a few auditions for different series and films in the years following Barney and His Friends. Her auditions did not go well. After the departure of the show Selena was able to audition for roles in various other film and television shows, but did not have much success. The film also gave her the part of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2006 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a song.
