Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls in late 1970s. Their punkish music and provocative lyrics helped them get recognized by the rock world. The group was not able to achieve major success on the scene in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup of her group in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' On the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford disappeared for a few time from the scene after the two albums didn't receive much attention. She returned with a bang with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Sadly, her fame was short-lived and she remained absent from the industry for a number of decades. In 1995 she debuted "Black" and fifteen years later 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
